In Peryar Nagar, Malar Trust India works mainly with the Irula community settled at the end of the village.
The Education Center has been set up in an existing community building that was repaired, repainted and connected to electricity by us in 2011.
In this building we run all our activities: a balwadi for 15 children, a coaching class for abut 35 children and a tailoring center where we periodically run free tailoring course for women.
For all children the Trust provides a transport service to cover the distance (5 kilometers) from the village to the government school in Manampathi.
In June 2014 we helped a dozen families from the village with the money to connect their houses to the electricity grid.
