She lost the use of her legs when she was just four years old. Never married and with no family to care for her, Shanthi has faced life’s challenges alone with remarkable strength.
Until a few years ago, she lived with her mother. But following a serious misunderstanding, Shanthi was forced to leave home. With nowhere else to go, she took shelter in a cattle shed, where she lived for nearly a year, surviving on a disability pension of just ₹1,000 per month.

Deepa Priya is a young woman of about twenty-five, suffering from muscular dystrophy, that we have been helping for more than two years with a small monthly subsidy.

On April 1st 2019 a new Disabled Resource Center, run by Malar Trust India, officially opened its doors to the public.
