Yesterday, our team had the privilege of visiting Kancheepuram, where we distributed a laptop to Sathyamoorthy, a young man whose life story is a powerful example of courage, resilience, and determination.
Sathyamoorthy lost his father a few years ago. His mother supports the family by running a small saree business, selling sarees door to door. From each saree, she earns a very modest profit of just Rs. 50 to Rs. 100. They live in a rented house and carefully manage their daily expenses, facing life with dignity and perseverance.
From birth, Sathyamoorthy has suffered from a serious stomach problem. After completing college, he faced another major challenge when he developed a tumor in his spinal cord. He had to undergo a critical surgery, which unfortunately caused damage to his spinal cord, leading to loss of sensation below his hips. Today, by God’s grace, he is able to walk short distances with the help of a walker. However, he has no control over bladder and bowel movements and depends on diapers for daily life.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, Sathyamoorthy has never lost hope. With remarkable determination, he is currently preparing for the TNPSC examination, aiming to secure a government job and build a stable future for himself and his family.
For his studies, a laptop is an essential tool. Understanding his need and his strong will to succeed, we were truly happy and honored to provide him with a laptop yesterday. The joy and gratitude on his face reminded us why we do what we do.
