Vanaththaraj’s House Roof Replacement Successfully Completed

A fundraising campaign launched by Malar Trust has enabled the completion of a new roof for a home in the village of Siruthavur. Thanks to the generosity of donors, the family will be able to face the monsoon season with greater safety and peace of mind.

Thanks to the solidarity and generosity of our donors, Vanaththaraj’s family will be able to face the rainy season with a safer home.

Two weeks ago, Malar Trust launched an emergency fundraising campaign to support the family of Vanaththaraj, the uncle of one of our teachers at the Siruthavur after-school centre.

Vanaththaraj has been living with throat cancer for over a year. Due to his illness and paralysis, he is no longer able to work as a driver. His family, consisting of his wife and four children, is going through an extremely difficult period, facing financial hardship, medical expenses and the need to live in separate homes.

Against this already challenging background, the roof of the family home had become severely deteriorated, creating an additional source of concern. With the monsoon season approaching, urgent repairs were needed to ensure the family had adequate and safe shelter.

Thanks to the donations received and the generosity of everyone who chose to support this initiative, the work was completed in a very short time. The house now has a new roof, allowing the family to face the coming months with one less worry.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who continues to believe in the power of solidarity and practical support.
