New Children Care Centre opened in Kunnapattu tribal community

Kunnapattu is a village 6 or 7 km away from Mamallapuram.

The tribal community that we began to follow at the end of last year is made up of about 50 families who have lived in the village in a fairly stable way for many years now.

New Tuition Center opened in Poonjeri MGR Nagar

Youth suicide prevention day in Memory of Nandini

Last Sunday, Malar Trust India organized a commemoration day one year after the passing of Nandini, a child of Poonjeri who, at only 14 year of age, committed suicide for reasons that were never clear but were probably linked to a small disappointment in love.

Daytime care for Poonjeri orphan children

Last February, after a couple of Italian volunteers spent a few weeks in the Poonjeri Irula community an anomaly caught our attention: there was a group of children wandering through the village streets during the day, apparently without attending school and unsupervised by adults.
